Patients in their 20s or 30s can reverse the signs of aging with a few simple injections. Those in their 60s and beyond can take a decade off the face with a primary facelift. But what about those in their 40s and 50s? We introduce the mini facelift!

Refresh Your Face Over the Weekend!

Most people don’t like the idea of taking weeks off their social and professional lives to recover from a facelift. But if you’re in your 40s or early 50s and have mild to moderate signs of aging, you don’t need a complete facelift with weeks of downtime. With a mini facelift, you can tighten your skin tissues and refresh your appearance over the weekend, and be back at work within a few days!

What is a Mini Facelift?

A mini facelift is a less invasive version of a traditional facelift, suitable for patients with moderate facial skin laxity and jowling. As you reach your 40s, the gradual breakdown of collagen and elastin leads to facial sagging and the onset of wrinkles, nasolabial folds, and jowls. A mini facelift involves making small incisions to tighten the lower half of the face to improve the jawline and take a few years off the face.

A Mini Facelift Can Correct:

  • Moderate skin laxity
  • Moderate facial sagging
  • Wrinkles and facial creases
  • Mild to moderate jowls
  • Nasolabial folds around the nose
  • Marionette lines around the mouth
  • Double chin

Benefits of a Mini Facelift:

  • Minimal swelling and bruising after the surgery
  • Involves minimal recovery period and downtime
  • Resume most of the daily activities within a week
  • Incisions are easily hidden behind the ears
  • Take several years off the face

Your Mini Facelift Journey: Consultation, Surgery, Recovery

Your mini facelift journey starts with a thorough consultation with our facial plastic surgeons. During your consultation, the surgeon will carefully examine your facial skin, discuss your goals and expectations, understand why you’re pursuing a facelift, review your medical history, and determine if you’re a good candidate for a mini facelift. The surgeon will also measure the degree of skin laxity on your face to curate a personalized surgical plan, which involves marking the targeted incision areas on your face.

Your mini facelift is performed under general or local anesthesia at our state-of-the-art surgical facility. The surgeon makes small incisions above each of the ears and along the hairline. Unlike a traditional facelift, the incision doesn’t go down to the neck or up to the temples. After an incision, the surgeon elevates the skin, trims excess skin, and re-drapes it into your newly contoured facial position. The procedure concludes within 2 hours.

You can expect moderate pain, swelling, redness, and bruising around the incision sites for a few days. Some patients also experience temporary numbness in the treatment areas. The side effects gradually dissipate over a few weeks. You can resume most of your daily activities and work within a week, but you should avoid strenuous workouts for 2 weeks or more. The results of the surgery will gradually become evident as the side effects dissipate over a few weeks. The final results should last for up to 15 years.
