In recent years, we have learned to harness light energy to address your skin concerns and conditions, such as damaged skin, hyperpigmentation, and vascular lesions. IPL photofacial allows us to improve your complexion without injections, chemicals, or downtime.

Improve Your Complexion with Light

The skin is a protective barrier for your body. And because of its role as a protective organ, it’s constantly assailed by harmful UV rays, bacteria, toxins, viruses, environmental pollutants, and other impurities. Over time, your skin may look damaged, dull, dark, and marked with scars and pigmented spots. IPL photofacial allows us to target all of your skin conditions using highly-calibrated pulses of light energy.

What is IPL Photofacial?

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) photofacial is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation technique that involves channeling pulses of light energy into your skin. Different wavelengths of light energy can target different skin conditions, so the medical provider adjusts the device according to your needs. The light energy destroys the unwanted pigments on your skin and stimulates natural collagen production, making your skin look smooth, even textured, and firm.

IPL Photofacial Can Correct:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne breakouts
  • Skin laxity
  • Sagging skin
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Brown spots
  • Age spots
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Textural irregularities
  • Rosacea
  • Melasma
  • Skin discoloration
  • Vascular lesions
  • Spider veins
  • Dull complexion

How IPL Photofacial Treats Acne

Persistent acne breakouts occur because of the accumulation of dead skin cells, sebum, and debris in the pores of your skin. When your pores are clogged, the p.acnes bacteria that live on the skin may cause inflammation and the formation of acne. During an IPL photofacial, the medical provider channels highly calibrated wavelengths of light energy to destroy the acne-causing bacteria and regulate the production of sebum, thus minimizing acne breakouts.

Benefits of IPL Photofacial:

  • Non-invasive skin rejuvenation
  • No incisions, injections, or chemicals
  • No harsh side effects or complications
  • Addresses your specific skin concerns
  • Improves overall skin tone and texture
  • Resume daily activities immediately

Your IPL Photofacial Journey: Consultation, Treatment, Recovery

Your iPL photofacial journey starts with a detailed consultation with our medical providers. Since different skin types and conditions respond to different wavelengths of light energy, a thorough skin assessment is necessary. The medical provider carefully examines your facial skin, discusses your goals and concerns, reviews your medical history, and curates a personalized treatment plan, which involves selecting the appropriate wavelength for your concerns.

During IPL photofacial, the medical provider cleanses your facial skin to remove the oils, makeup residue, and debris, and you have to wear protective eyeglasses. The medical provider presses the IPL device against your skin and moves it around the treatment area while delivering pulses of light energy. You might feel a sensation similar to a rubber band snapping against your skin, but the discomfort is tolerable. The treatment concludes in 30 minutes.

Your skin might feel slightly sunburned after your IPL photofacial, but there are no major side effects. You can resume your daily activities and work immediately, but you should avoid high-intensity activities and direct sunlight for 2 days. The pigmented lesions may become darker for a few weeks before disappearing completely. Most patients need 2 to 6 sessions spaced a month apart for optimal results.
